Hoarhey and Wakeup,

Thanks for relaying that information.

I have heard that one way of storing the excess energy produced by wind generators is to pump water up into the pools behind dams... using the dam pools kind of like batteries. I wonder if that mechanism is being seriously considered for the dams on the Columbia.

Rather than leaving our lights on to use up the extra electricity, maybe we could fire up the old aluminum plant.

The real problem is in the spring when we get above average water years and the wind is nuking. The BPA can't tell the windmills to shut down.production to alleviate excess water flow due to flooding. And dont even think.about asking the coal plants to shut down (all the crazies come out).
Glad I don't have to worry about managing that predicament.
