Plenty of super cool poledancers around, and most of the seasoned kiters used to poledance.

Just goofing.

There is an obvious solution to people who want a set of waves reserved for themselves and their cronies.

Buy an island and sail there. It's what Richard Branson does.

Pretty sure the rest of us peasants need to stick together.

There's a new school of windsurfers throwing some pretty wild stuff on poleboards - hate to say it but stuff that 95% of kiters will never come close to.

And neither will 99% of windsurfers...!

I remember watching TGR movies with some steep, sick shit... then the next year it's the same steep drops with the new school throwing tricks on the way down. The kiters my age (or thereabouts) who came from windsurfing (and even grew kiting - Naish, Logosz, Winner, etc.), we were impressed by front and back loops in our day. And the Hatch is one of the few places in the world you can see it.

I remember when TGR had Rush Randle sending it on a 2 line kite back in the day. That dude killed on both a kite and a windsurfer. What ever happened to that guy? I digress, 95% of kiters will never throw down anything with a handle pass involved either. Windsurfing is harder than kiting, but only to get good at it.

The learning curves are different. I remember learning to windsurf. It took less than 30 minutes to be up and riding and tacking back and forth in light winds. To do anything beyond tacking back and forth and staying up wind was more work than I wanted to do.

Kiteboarding - 3 hours of flying a trainer - half day of body dragging, getting yarded, and trying to get up on a board. A few more sessions to get to where I could transition and stay upwind. Once past this point - I feel way more comfortable trying new stuff on a kiteboard than a windsurfer.

Different learning curves does not make one sport better than another. Go out and have fun on the toy of your choice!

WOW I can't believe I read like 79% of this... I think it's apparent that PTP doesn't like to give high-fives upside down, so kiting under him while he is upside down doesn't get him stoked up, even if it would be a sweet photo.... lesson to take from all this is people can be dick's and usually its the ones that still have something to prove, even though they were soooo 2002.. they are easy to spot so steer clear of them, if they charge at you, just go badger style on them and do what you want....

Forrest you should really keep your personal life to yourself.. Just sayin Smile

The shaking of the beehive :
Yesterday before we passed through the Hatch - there apparently had been some out of town pro kiters up at the hatch boosting and wiping out big time and having to spend a lot of time body dragging to get to their boards. It was mainly 2 guys showboating right in front

The above quote is from Pepi, and I think it should guide some action on the kiting communitys part here. From other sources, the "pro kiters" in question were with North. They stirred up a substantial shit storm and then left town, I feel this is completely irresponsible and they need to hear about it. Lets find out who these guys were and contact their sponsors directly; either individually or as a CGKA.

Anybody still reading this thread?
