Anyone launch from St Helens Columbia View Park? Is there a wind shadow from Sand Island Marine Park?

Actually, after Brian left, it picked up SOLID 12M!!!

That was about 7:30? NNE w/ N on the Washington side.

But, I was pretty much powered all day on my 19M Flysurfer Speed 3 Deluxe and 137 Litewave Storm!!!!!!

My big son was also lit on my 12M FS S3 S and the Litewave Wing!!

Big boosts!!!

Wind got kind of gusty wierdy around 6pm, then lightened till Brian left.

Must have been the luck of the Unicorn Wink

jones and gorge are further, but the drive is worth it. especially since you stand a much larger chance of the forecast matching the actual weather. if you stand on the beach for one day for 4 hours waiting for it and repeating, almost in rhythm with other kiters, "its almost here", you'll have given up more time than doing the drive 4 or 5 times.

Bingo...we have a winner!!! Thumb's Up

I-84 can handle traffic flow on hot weekends..plus yesterday was legit 6M-10M wind all day in da Hood. Check the web cams and crank the tunes driving 70 mph because you know when you park it's "get the ol stinky wetsuit out of the back time".......and not "wait and pound sand in my butt crack time".

Always interesting to see what people call "LIT" and "BIG TIME AIR".

But just as a general reference... being able to stay upwind does not equal "lit"

as for big air.... Dude you were boosting huge!! at least 7-8 feet off the water. Kind of funny though, you would think that after kiting this ling..you could land them,??

Smile

I am curious David........what does the "deluxe" model come with that the standard 19M Flysurfer Speed 3 does not???

Oh, I can answer that Sella. That comes with the ability to crash your kite in the water next to a group of about 8 children. You seeequine Delux model equires that you make your massive boosts within at least 50 yards of the shore..

The nice thing, when you jump, it automatically doesn't get back into the window in time so you get to do the straight down but slam to kiddie freak out.

Those are best done right on shore.

That board is pretty cool as well. It does the "hey I'm going to fly by and spray you and look cool but fall down in the process and almost hit you thing".

I do need a session. Why I went to sauvie to get that session? I will never know. I think it was for the sheer kook fest. Sun bathers laying right next to the launch zone, flukey wind, and we even saw a baby almost drown. That was even followed up by the fire truck and ambulance showing up.... 30 minutes after the baby was back playing in the sand.

Sunday afternoon on a 90 degree day. Who would have expected there would be circus like crowds...

But, ya that ambulance didn't show up until about an hour after the drowning baby emergency call went out. Don't practice drowning at the island!
