colorful boardshorts brighten up an otherwise dull PNW color pallet for video and photos.
plus since my boardshorts are the only bright thing I wear they focus your attention on my ass and crotch region. yes look at the bright colors! muahahaha
A piece of advice if you want to wear boardshorts. Invest in a good pair that is made out of a stretch material. Most of the big brands make them like this now. My personal favorite is the O'Neill Freak series. They won't limit your movement and they are much thinner and lighter weight so I think the added drag is negligible.
