What's even funnier is that someone that lives in longview (which lets face it, smells like cat piss because of all the mills) is crying about the aesthetic impacts of windmills in the gorge.

I'll let the folks at the mills and factories and docks know we're shuttin 'er down and puttin up a solar panel. My buddies at the ILWU will be thrilled. And yeah, I'm still gonna drive where I want.
cheers,
uneducated redneck from Longview who loves the Gorge! _________________ Haole |

There is an easier solution to stemming environmental degradation. Everyone just has to stop having children. Or if you're impatient, just kill everyone. |

There will always be a large segment of the population that will fight to the defend the stautus quo, regardless of merit, even if the status quo is a destructive one.
Ha ha regarding the tag team duo of Hein and Salmon Slayer popping up and defending their religion, whoops I mean their political beliefs. 99% of scientists are all wrong. Apparently they are not getting the data correct, like the 8 or so "scientists" that are funded by exxon who magically tell us that driving our suv's is fine.
Lets be clear. We cannot UNDO nuclear energy. This stuff is the definition of TOXIC.
We cannot store the waste, and there is not an insurance company this side of the milky way that will insure a nuclear energy facility- save our gubmint.
A true libertarian quack should be against gubmint intervention into commercial enterprise, yet it appears that the nuclear energy industry relies entirely on our gubmint in order to even exist.
I have a solution. For every nuclear power facility that any energy company builds, they must first place 5 trillion dollars into an escrow fund to be used entirely for the inevitable cleanup. Oh, they can't do that you say? But, after dirty energy disasters these companies seem to always rely on gubmint ( our money ) for clean up and bail out. This way we are guaranteed that the perpetrator will pay the cost, not the public. _________________ Take the red pill... |

You do realize that all business cost are passed onto the public through higher cost, dont you? Why not propose a 50% tax on big oil, just to stick it to them? Who do you think would bear the burden of that tax? |

"the mills and factories are going to shut down anyways." - pdxmonkey
I think u should put your money where your mouth is and come do a townhall meeting up here. The topic could be " The inevitable (and soon) demise of timber and other heavy industry in the lower columbia region". Show all us uneducated redneck hicks your astounding intellect and grasp of the issues. Just be sure to use pictures on yer PowerPoint cause we're basically illiterate right? I'll invite some of the morons that run Weyerhaeuser, Longview fibre and Simpson. Along with steelscape, usg, tidewater, and a handfull of logging companies. You can wax eloquent about how the end is near. What da ya say? _________________ Haole |
