Sup every body; Captain Kook is back! All recovered from the concussion and I got a new wet suit today. Let's get out there and get some kiting in.
I feel that I should commend MonkeyBoy for accurately deducing that I wouldn't be able to learn Back Mobe last year. Sadly I was just getting to the point that I could do some real serious attempts on it when the concussion ended my season. None of my attempts to that point had a legitimate chance of success. I was able to nail backroll to revert both directions though. Also F-16's, thanks for the tip on that one Monkey; lots of fun. I'm definitely going to stick Back Mobe this year.
Now for this years goal: Winning Bridge of the Gods! That's right, all you kooks out there thinking about participating this year better bring your A-game because you will be competing against the Captain. I'm gonna need a lot of practice though so any winter season kiteboarders, if you are thinking about getting a session in feel free to contact me.
Cheers everyone. Here's to a great year! _________________ Captain kook; always wrong. |

Back mobes are pretty hard. I am a pretty solid kiter and I never mastered them. Try a wrapped mobe first, they are easier and more stylish. Good luck and wear a helmet. |

Scriffler; I got to the point before the concussion that I could do back to revert no problem. I was just starting to really attempt a back to wrapped or back mobe. I spent a couple days in HR trying it at the end of the season but always caught an edge. I'm pretty sure if I could have gotten my feet under me it would probably have been a back to wrapped because I'm sure I wasn't doing handle passes. I'll get it soon enough. I probably need to work on getting better pop this year to make it a little easier.
Anyway, season 3 is gonna be awesome for me! Watch out _________________ Captain kook; always wrong. |

According to most sources, the key is to spin as fast as you can. It is way harder than it sounds. I had Jaime herraiz try to teach me and I almost made a couple. Then I just gave up after I hurt my knee. More fun to cruise and ride waves. Now I understand what my dad meant when he said tricks are for kids. hope you get it. |

We are talking about a no whip back mobe and not a dangle air pass , right? |

This is what I'm basing my practice on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_kPlBDQ8Fg
If you are saying what I think you are saying then; yes. All pop no boosting/dangling. Last season I got to the attempting backroll to wrapped. _________________ Captain kook; always wrong. |

Speaking of being back. The Troutdale forecast is looking decent for Sunday. Might be time for the first session of the year! _________________ Captain kook; always wrong. |
