I've bought a lot of stuff at GP over the years and never had a problem. The shop is pretty laid back, like most snow and surf stores. No question it is a good idea to inspect a used item very carefully with your own eyes. |

Thanks for all of the support! It's easy to feel under-appreciated from both sides of the table. Your votes of confidence mean a lot. Seriously.

gorgebob wrote: | Mike D, sorry for the poor service. Justin is usually very good on call backs and dealing with these situations. Brock gave you the option to purchase the additional items with the $200 you put down, but at that time you chose not too. We do consider a deposit taken on products a "purchase." Our policy of cash back within one week and store credit (gift card) within 30 days is an industry standard and has been our policy for years. Normally, adhering to written policies is the best course of fairness for all.
I have discussed this situation with the staff and we will keep trying to be the best shop we can be.
In this case, I would like to arrange a refund. Please stop by or give me a call. 503-246-6646.

Bob, What's the purpose of making a cash deposit a "purchase" that is equal to a hard goods purchase? It doesn't make sense to me, but I assume there is a good business reason for it? |

Bob and the Crew at Gorge Performance ROCK!!!
I bought my first quiver of sails in 1978? when Bob was just a little shaver.
His love for our sports and Outrageous Dependability keeps me coming back.
I have bought just about every piece of gear from Gorge Performance.
Doing business with a local shop does pay off!!!!
Last month I sold my kites and I shipped them out Thursday.
I asked Bob how soon I could get four New Kites all with the same color. He asked me....When do you want them?.......I told him that I was leaving on a trip next Tuesday. He told me that the kites I just ordered would be there on Monday.
As soon as UPS showed up Monday morning they called me and asked me to swing buy to pickup the kites at my convenience. You really cant beat that for excellent customer service.
I hate to say it but not all people are created equal, sometimes its just best not to do business with certain people if you do not resinate with them. It really shouldn't be that hard to get along with Bob or his crew. |

Is there a difference between CASH money and regular money? I should get some of that CASH money, sounds pretty pImp.
You spent $700? Yippeee!!! Then you go straight the forum and cry like a baby when you dont get your way or there is a hiccup? There are two sides to every story. It seems weird that bob would go out of his way to fuck you on something.
Kook is as kook does. NO shop is going to certify or inspect used gear, that is you respOnsibility. _________________ Bury me standing cause I won't lay down!!

Bingo.
GP employee follows the rules while kid using parents weekly allowance doesn't agree so he goes online to bitch and now Bob comes in to clean and fix something he really didn't need to. The problem is the kook wins while posting a subjective rant about a sport he probably doesn't know his chicken loop from his chicken dick. Bob, hang in there....retirement to Mexico is still all good amigo.
And Scriffler...why are you jumping on the hate bandwagon so hard?? You sound like a Penn State student pissed because Joe Paterno got fired for taking away the key to the room where his buddy was raping 10 year old boys.

The problem was the kook, not the shop.

I bought some stuff from them when I was buying my gear this last summer. I thought they were pretty helpful but I have to admit I was surprised at their return policy (not that it even pertains to your problem, since you really weren't returning anything). I own a business here in the Portland area (three stores now) and I deal with some brand new and some used merchandise. I have survived for 10 years because of great customer service and a 30 day no questions asked return policy. It's the only way to make it. It's like cell phones and cable tv.....they know their product isn't the best so they make you sign crazy 2 and 3 year contracts. That's always pissed me off. If you have a good product you can offer the customer the world. Shame on you Gorge. I would love to hear your side of it. |

I've never had a problem with ANY of the local shops. Gorge Performance, Cleanline, 2nd Wind have all been great to me and to the community.
If for some reason you ever have a problem with any of those guys, take it to the top and it will surely get resolved. _________________ Lets FLY |

I wouldn't really trust a shop located somewhere you cant even kiteboard. You would have much better luck coming to Hood River instead where people who work in the shops actually kiteboard. So basically check out 2nd wind, windance, or big winds next time you need to purchase some gear. _________________ I heart dangling |
