Gotta love those Post Canyon Jumps......a 1 foot wide entry ramp a big old gap to really hurt yourself on.

After spending a weekend in Bend and/or Whistler, it is really a shame that we don't have some better stuff to ride up here.

Why would you need a bigger entry ramp? And yes, there is a big scarry gap. And if you messed up, like pussed out and went to slow you could potentially FUCK yourself up but that is all part of it. There is a direct relationship between the risk and reward.

Have you hit the FMX jumps? I don't think I have ever hit a sweeter set of perfectly designed jumps, even in whistler, and ESPECIALLY in bend. Bend has one good DJ park.

If you ever wonder why people don't build huge safe table tops deep in the woods I would highly, highly suggest you grab a shovel one day, hike up in the woods and start digging and throwing dirt in an attempt to build a table top jump. A tiny one, like maybe 3 feet high, 4 feet wide and 6 feet long. Big tables are built by machines.

What post needs is a little more flow.

Hey Monkey,

I'm in agreement with you ( I watched your Whislter video a while back and commented on your Cove).

I have and do work/organize many of the trail parties in Post. I agree that what we need is more flow. There is no reason why Post Canyon does not have a Woops-like trail. Fun for all.....the 29er in spandex can roll through there with his seat up high and a guy on a big bike can clear the doubles and triples.

I just get so frustrated with the way Post is built and managed. Basically three guys building trails up there their own way without any interest in taking input for the collective good. Jason Wells at IMBA (Sandy Ridge) has tried to get somewhere, but in the end just gets frustrated with how it all works up here and we are stuck with mediocre stuff. There is no reason why we should be on the road to having something like Blackrock up here.

Bend has the Lair, the DJs and the Slalom, Woops, Funner, etc. All incredible.

The FMX left side are sweet, but they require commitment and don;t end well if you come up short.

Tables are for ladies. A full on excavator is what you need but it won't fit through most of that stuff. I WILL rent a bobcat though if we can find a truck to haul it up there.

Believe it or not sometimes it's better just to go out and build what you want. The imba and stuff is great but they really bog shit down and puss everything up to the least common denominator (I.e. Table tops)

Nothing wrong with building features that allow progression as long as there's something there to progress to. I still dream of a jump like Eternal Tranny at Blackrock, but with another lip 10-15ft further back. Basically, a snowboard style jump with multiple lips so the landing is 10, 20 and 30 ft away and a long 30ft+ landing that's part of the run so you can send the shit out of it. Also, more variety would be sweet. More wallrides, hips, lip to wallride, etc. All with ability to start small to get technique dialed and work your way up.

Biggest problem is getting motivated to build when it's someone else's vision and not yours.

Well let's just say this, if we can decide on a shared vision (we being myself and a group of other strong backed people) then the dirt will fly.

I just want a place where shit isn't going to get torn down. I built way to many trails and dirt jumps just to see them get plowed under. A curved wall ride would be uber pimp! We can put sticks, broken glass, and snakes under it. Smile

You guys can get the needed fill dirt, logs, and lumber from the life-flight helipad that your going to need. Razz Sounds like a good goal/plan to shoot for.

LMAO, good point sasquatch. Maybe we should store back boards under the big jumps Smile.

Its all balls to the wall fun..until you crash hard.

I think this second guy was riding a norco.....

This store manager at whistler thought it would be good to go hit the hard stuff with his employees...

Link

Not a brutal crash but the sound effects are great..

you dudes use neck braces? If so, which one? I am leaning towards the Leatt as it seems to be the best one and that is why they got started. The alpinestars one looks good as well, but I have heard indifferent things about it.
