De-Krep - Eat your angry-o's this morning? Why do you care what I think? You seem to be the great expert kite superstar after only kiting for a couple of months. I didn't post what I did to have a fight. It's a forum. There are many opinions. I don't agree with you, you don't agree with me. So what. You've insulted me much more than me saying you gave bad advice. Pretty extreme response on your part. You just seem to have a mean spirit & have turned this into an uneccessary drama. I didn't want to bicker but I'm not going to let you take shots at me without standing up for myself. Bully much? Start a new post about this since you're so passionate about the topic.
Anthony - So sorry your good intentioned post has turned into this. I hope you enjoy La Ventana and you heard my enthusiasm for the place in my original post. My kite trip to La Ventana was one of the best experiences I ever had. I'm going back for a few weeks this coming season & I can't wait. _________________ Be kind to Kooks |

melokitegirl wrote: | You seem to be the great expert kite superstar after only kiting for a couple of months. .... | How, with any kind of rational train of thought, do you come to that conclusion?? A guy asks about lessons at La Ventana, and from his post I suggest that it sounds he *might* have enough lessons under his belt to try getting his own kite and venturing out to the sandbar and that makes me come off as a know-it-all "great expert kite superstar"??? I think you're the one choking on the "angry-o's"... pretty funny shit actually! I've already pointed out that Nak and I gave almost identical advice and I don't see you having a shit-fit over what he said... and the only reason you know that I've kited for "a couple of months" is because I sent you a PM trying to cool this thing off, and you used that to take shots at me... seriously girl, whose got the "mean spirit"... jesus... |

I want to thank all of you! I will be in La Ventana this year for a week of kite boarding lessons! And hopefully on the water this summer.

While you are checking things out look at Ventana Bay Resort. Nice accommodations, and they offer gear & room packages. Great spot to do down winders from.
Also nice hiking and biking.
Enjoy, La Ventana is great. |

Dewd! ANyone been to palapas? Me and 2 other buds going, thought this sounded like a good spot because they have a casita that will accomodate us. Haven't been before, ready to book it. Going end of dec, so may not even be available. We want to stay some place that makes it very simple, even if it costs more. Fly in, get there, check in, ride, refresh, head home. Close to whereever we need to be, can get supplies which translates to tacos, beer, advil. Close to water is the big thing. |

Yup - stayed at Palapas. It's great! It's a bit more private. The food is excellent. Tim & Jimena are great hosts. Tim's mom is sweet also. The Casitas are on either side of an arroyo & you walk down in between it to the restaurant & social area. Then down to their private beach. They have paddle boards to rent - highly recommended in the morning. I'd paddle down to Baja Joe's early-ish, have an espresso, then paddle back before the wind switches. That way you get the "in the know" "breakfast club" locals meeting about wind & kite speak. A great way to meet people. Tim can also arrange a drop-off for a sweet downwinder or set-up a "swim with whale shark" experience for you.
Great Margaritas at Palapas as well..... _________________ Be kind to Kooks |
