From the Northern Coastal forecast and some of the current readings, I would guess that SI will go this evening. . .

Had a little extra time last night so I cranked out this little parody from Tenancious D's Double Team. Play the utube and read/sing the lyrics I wrote. . . Hope to see you out there this evening at SI.

Damn, a hard day's workiin'. Better slip off ma shoes.
Maybe give a little stretch, and a bend.
Dip m'toe and gear into the car, baby. Slip out this MP3 playlist:
The Buttress of Wind. Ho ho ho, what is this? How's it goin'? [Fremont bridge flags are moving]
[sung]
That's the first thing I say to you. [SI]
How's it goin'? Are you blowin'?
Listen honey,
Thinkin' 'bout a couple kiting moves to bust out upon you,
Showin', growin', [wind line on Multnomah channel]
Man I'd like to place my brand new board
upon your fuckin' skinny beach and pump.
And pump, pump my kite up.

Put out some wind,
And throw in a little sexy swell,
Then take a look,
'Cause here comes three dozen kiters,
Out from the Portland metro side streets,
With their kites, boards, and frosty six packs.
Now you're groovin',
Put on a sultry 16 mph wind to groove.
A funky groove to kite to.
A funky groove to kite to.

Me, me and all the PDX kiters you see,
It's all about evening kiting supreme,
We likes to kite SI.
Have you ever been worked on
By three dozen kiters who are hot for your goods?
That's what I'm offerin' you.
We step onto your beach,
That’s after we hear the Scappoose Industrial Airpark Airport readings preach, [10 mph minimum; 503-543-6401]
We lay out our kites upon your narrowish beach,
And then we feel a tickling from wind and sand upon our heads.
It's GMAN with the skim and his 12 Rpm,
Look out baby he got the tools.
And then you feel an empty can down by your feet.
It's he, it’s Wind Slither, he just finished suckin' down a 16 oz PBR.

We don’t mind driving down to visit if you blow.
Just don’t show some white caps and then cease blowing you prudish HO! [SI]
Havin' a Sauvies kite sess with GMAN, Wind Slither, and 34 others you see,
Now you're talkin' triple "D" team, Supreme.

Let's roll!
Oh!
[2-part:] Ahh, oh!

What! Yeah! Huh! Nah! Oh!
Ah, that's it, that's right, ohmygah, oh-I-think-I'm-gonna, Ohh!
Deht! Deht! Eeee!
...Splooge!

[spoken]
That was the one.

Wind Slither [:] Hail SI!
[Gman:] Hail SI!
[Wind Slither:] Hail SI!
[Gman:] Hail SI!

I think I'll try it but I wonder if it will be gusty with the cloud cover.

Old legends tell of a Sasquatch that used to frequent the island, but no one has seen it in recent times.

Before I pack up the cooler, 17m, and my SUP...I need to know the legend is real.
