I bought a used surfboard and twice now have glued the nsi strap pads on and the back pad just always seems to come off on the biggest crankin transition of the day. Besides falling off the back of my board and slamming into the wave when it initially happens, it has taught me to go strapless... halfway. But during today's sesh, on some bigger surf I went airborne a few times and my back foot left the board and it didn't end well. OK, I kind of suck at strapless on the back but it's definitely a fun way to go- better surf feel for sure. But I would appreciate someone's advice on how to clean any residual wax off the face of this board before I attempt to glue this back pad on again. Someone suggested mineral spirits? What the heck is that and will it hurt the board?

Sorry to hear you are having trouble. I suggest contacting NSI. I'm sure they can help. http://www.northshoreinc.com/store/pc/info.asp

Mineral spirits is paint thinner. Not the best option as it has an oil component to it. The film it leaves is not ideal. I use a can of 3M adhesive and wax remover. Should be able to get it at an auto paint store. One can will last you forever.
