I'm stuck in my PDX office this week, but could get out early at the end of the day. What's the dice say for SI this week?

Scappoose 48 is showing 10mph for today and tomorrow. High tide is around 4:30ish, both days. Sun and heat expected through the weekend. Will it go?

Any other SI wind forecast predictions for the next 72 hours?

I like the chances for SI when Seattle, Salem, and Eugene are showing moderate to teens winds from the North. Also when there is a good forecast for the Northern Coastal waters (N winds 15 to 20 with gusts to 25kt for this evening).

I'm saying she is going to give up her goods tonight.

There's a bad case of tide suck at SI every afternoon this week. This week the river is a spaz and starts flowing the wrong way, back to portland, about the time I get off work.

So unless its nukin, expect some hiking. Probably after every tack....

The good news is that next week the PM tides are in our favor and the columbia will be flowing out to sea every afternoon, just like a good river should.

The closest tide tables for SI are here:

http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/get_predictions.shtml?year=2011&stn=1038+Astoria&secstn=Knapp+Landing,+Wash.&thh=%2B4&thm=26&tlh=%2B6&tlm=28&hh=*0.0&hl=*0.0&footnote=wc5

Flow from High to Low = GOOD
Flow from Low to High = BAD

Expect a slack-ish tide for about a half hour on either side of the tide change.

I'll translate this for you:

Sauvie is going to suck dick this evening and won't even resemble kite boarding. Slogging tack out and then barely make it back to the beach 100 yards down wind...yipee!!!!
