Hi,

Looking at Ozone kites. Much prefer a mushroom tophat push away safety. Will any other 4 line bars work with this kite?

Thanks

the safety on the ozone bar works great! Why don't you like it?

Now days almost all current 4 line kites and bars are interchangeable.

There are only still a couple of models of kites that require front and back lines to be tweaked different lengths (Best Waroos?), but as long as the kite works with an equal length 4 line bar set up, interchangeability is fine.

The amount of depower range the the bar offers is the only detail that you may want to adjust depending on how much depower range your kite is designed for.

Picking a bar for the safety system that you like best is always a good way to start off.

maybe cause ozone is a pull away release instead of push away like all the other companies. Although if you wait long enough I hear ozone is finally conforming to the industry standard of push away system on 2012 models.

So with Ozone, any center line flagging, equal 4 length lime bar will work? Which kite bars are those? Liquid Force? Slingshot? Naish?

PS Hey Craz Z! It's Paul from Coeur d'Alene LOL!

Hi Paul hope your summer is good we've been getting wind almost daily all season it isn't the gorge winds but totally rideable.

I haven't switched alot of bars with different kites but in theory any 4 line bar will work. There is an exception and that would be north only on the y line. I used a different year bar from north on the same kite and it never flew right i wanna say the y had something to do with shaping the kite. plus u know there is a 5th optional on their kites.

If you wanna sweet bar maybe give EPIC a look. As far as i know they are the only company allowing center line unwind. I guess a swivel when it breaks to 2 lines is the same with other companies.

I've always hated ozone foil kites not being able to untwist its a 45 minute chore when they are wrapped super tight from over looping on one side. thats one problem of many why i don't fly them much if at all.

just a question why move from north?

Hey Rhett,

Yes good summer. Spending most of it in Gorge. Still love my Rebels but have been demoing kites all summer and think the Ozone Edges are so sweet and fun. Scored a sweet deal on a 13 and 9 with a bar. Think the bar is very nice but still think in a pinch, when micro-seconds count that a center push away is better than a one sided pull safety. Looking forward to seeing the 2012 bar. Glad you're getting some wind in MT, give a shout when you come this way.paul

Paul

Thats cool love good deals when they happen.
Pull safeties I hear you loud and clear when you've been on the correct system for years.

My favorite is still the norths. I'm sure you could by a north loop and switch it over to the ozone line. it cant be that hard people break those centerlines every once in a while. i sliced mine snowboarding one day and pieced it back together.

Hope to see you this summer or winter.

I have a ozone zephyr (for those lighter days in seattle) and use it with a couple of naish bars. I have used it on the 2010(bar with long front lines) and the 2011(bar with short front lines). works fine on both but I prefer the bar with long front lines. makes for water relaunch relatively easy for a kite of this size.
fyi- north makes four line control bars for their non 5 liners.
