I took Friday off so I can kite and get my girl out on a trainer. Anyone else going out? If so where? According to Temira wind should be light in the morning and pick up in the afternoon so I'll probably look to head out around noon-ish. I'm thinking either Jones or HR depending on how the forecasts pan out.

Jones was good from noon till 6ish. Don't let the wind meter fool you. It may have said 8mph but was really 15-20 with 5-6pm push of high teens avg. Wind was funky by the shore line but farther out was better.
I will be out there all day tomorrow teaching and kiting. Looks to be a fun day.
FYI the longview wind meter says 8mph but it is really 20. Can't trust these stupid wind meters for crap. I can't wait until Ikitesurf installs the new wind meter near the water at Jones Beach. Should be done this summer, hopefully really soon.
My rule of thumb for jones is if the meter says about 10mph I go cause it is really 15-19ish.
I will give a onsite report through out the day tomorrow from Jones....

Seems to me that if you just use the gust reading for the Ikite sensor - that is usually the average wind. This was the wind for Thursday..........

Event site was good at noon to 3, died a bit still nice out. Just got done with with Jimbo school and rehydrating..ahhhh. man the event site launch is something else!

I was there too early. From 11 to 2 it was dead. And from 2 to 3 it was barely boardable. Damn having to be back in portland.

Started out perfectly powered on my 11m bandit 4 then switched out to my 8m and definitly was powered up. Awsome wind in the alley. Steady and strong. Was good day until it turned almost straight onshore wind.
