Has anyone been out to Sauvies lately? It looks like it might happen tonight.

I went out there a week or so ago. There's basically no beach; just wide enough to pump up your kite. Drift launching is nearly your only option. And good luck finding a spot the fishermen aren't using.

Wind is only 5 at 040 right now. It would have to pick up a lot to entice me but if it does I might be there. Chances are that anyone who goes will get skunked today. Don't forget the beer!

Tomorrow's forecast is absolutely crappy.

Don't go there.

Not enough beach for both of us.

It won't blow, or should I say, "it will blow".

Fishermen too mean. Wind line too lean.

LOL.5

Tempting. Both sauvie and the Freemont bridge read 7 on WOTW. I called the airport line though and it read 5. I'll wait for it to pick up some more before I pull the trigger on heading out.

No Way! Curtis will be there too!

Is this that nude underwater basket weaving course you said you were taking at PSU?

If only there were a better spot on the other side of the river with more beach, easier access and...

oops...

I almost gave it away.

Are you talking about the secret spot on the WA side with the nice manicured grass launch and the "danger raw sewage" signs indicating where to set up? Smile

Yes, it's full of raw sewage, alligators, needles, and a few remaining D.B. Cooper twenties.

Don't even try it. Awful stuff.

Not even worth considering.

Stick with the fat nudies.

You mean this secret spot. . .

More wind shaddows, more danger with big ships. . .less fat nude people. . . closer to the headwaters of Lake VanTucky. I guess it is a mixed bag.

Yep, that's the place I'd guessed. It's only close if you live in vancouver.

Last time I went to check it out, the beach was posted with a large number of raw sewage warning signs. I don't know how frequently that's an issue there.

A few years back I was tempted to try out Lumpy Lake on South winder.

I had to pull over to puke on the 5, going home.

Absolutely nasty place.

I can't believe they have a park and swimming area. It must get real nice as the temp rises. Chunky Soup ;(
