I pulled these teeth out of the mouth of a large eel-like creature that was washed up on Manzanita beach last weekend. They are long, flat and super sharp - daggers! Perfect for kite puncturing and line slashing, maybe I should carry them instead of my kite knife!
The head was separated from the body and the body was pretty mangled (seagulls were fighting over it). All I could make out was it was impressively big with a dorsal fin running the length of its back. I was not like any eel I have seen before: moray, wolf or conger. Anyone able to identify it?

If you'd found it way south, I'd have guessed a barracuda. Those things are nasty.
In Puerto Rico, a lot of divers think they are worse than sharks. Sharks typically circle before they attack and give you a chance to back off. Barracudas just flash in out of nowhere, bite off a fist-sized chunk, and split...

Barracuda did cross my mind too but I don't think there are too many in the North Pacific and the long dorsal fin pretty much rules them out...
