Wed May 18, 11 10:35 am OT: Internet Explorer is bad for your health |

I think of kiters as a fairly well informed bunch, always wanting the best out of life and wanting to use the best tools available.
So why are 30% of you using a browser from a company that has no interest in innovating the web? (Microsoft) Maybe your response is: Uh well it works. Well so says grandma using her 10 year old PC to send email to her grandkids. Do you want to be a grandma? Do you??!
Get Chrome now: http://google.com/chrome (nwkite will be 10x faster using Chrome)
Firefox is also very good (be sure you are on version 4): http://getfirefox.com
Safari is OK, just make sure its up to date... funny how its only got 10% marketshare but its actually the most popular browser for nwkite.

Amen brother. Besides how bad the browser sucks for the user, it is also the web developers worst nightmare. I have spent weeks of my life trying to get sites to render properly on various versions of IE.

I tried Chrome about a year ago and just didn't like the way it was set up so I went back to Firefox. Firefox just recently had an update and now everything is pretty much what I didn't like about Chrome. I'm trying Chrome again and I like it! I suggest checking it out.
I do have to use internet explorer every once in a while for something like logging onto a router.

Hey Andy, There is an extension that mimics internet explorer in chrome. I have been using it for a while (when needed) and found I can get to any site that doesn't support Chome (mostly sites that my company has created), Check it:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/fnfnbeppfinmnjnjhedifcfllpcfgeea
Saves having to even open IE.

Older machines actually benefit the most from Chrome as its so optimized. Running Chrome is like upgrading your whole machine (actually its better because the performance gains vs. Internet Explorer can't even been realized by upgrading to even the fastest PC you can buy.)

Yes - I use Chrome on our MacBook and its awesome. Safari and Chrome are both based on Webkit which is a great open source browser core, but Chrome has a faster Javascript engine and updates itself automatically in the background. It also integrates search into the URL bar which is really nice.
