Fri Jun 17, 11 12:53 pm 2011 KB4Girls Date Change! |
|
|
Hello everyone!
Here's a heads up regarding this year's KB4girls clinic: the date has been moved to August 13th.
Forecasted high water and the resulting lack of space for the event are the reasons for the change. We hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone, but feel free to pm or call me if you have any questions.
Hope to see you there!

KB4girls is coming up on August 13th so don't hesitate to register! We have an awesome staff of coaches lined up:
Britney Todd
Becky Bishop
Laura Maher
...and of course Kristin Boese! There are still a few spots open so tell your lady friends not to wait.
This year's proceeds will benefit Girls, Inc. of NW Oregon, a group that "inspires girls and young women to be strong, smart and bold".
Hope to see you at the Spit August 13th!

KB4girls Hood River clinic was a success!!
Women of various skill levels from around the Pacific Northwest came together to learn new skills, refresh safety habits, meet other lady kiters, and especially to help raise money for Girls, Inc. of Portland. Four girls participating in the Girls, Inc. program joined the kiters in the afternoon to watch Kristin demonstrate techniques and tricks, and later were guided by Kristin in flying a trainer kite. All of them seemed to be having really good time!
A special thanks goes to participant Machelle Dotson, whose fundraising efforts totaled $220, and for that she won a custom Kristin Boese edition Best kiteboard!
This year's clinic was sponsored by these awesome local businesses:
Slingshot
Second Wind Sports
The Sandbar Cafe
Rosauers
Dakine
Gorge Gradients Kite School
... with world tour support provided by Best Kiteboarding and beverages provided by Neuro.
Three wonderful local coaches gave their time and energy:
Laura Maher
Britney Todd
Becky Bishop
... and Seattle photographer Jim Stringfellow captured the whole event beautifully!
Volunteers Andrew and Amy Olive from Bellingham, and Jonah Peskin from HR we're indispensable (I seriously could not have carried those tents)!! Thank you for all of your help!
If anyone has any questions about KB4girls, please contact me or write to info@kb4girls.org.
Thanks again to everyone involved and especially the brave participants who faced classic 12-30+ mph Gorge winds!
