No dice. "monkeyboy unicorn" returns half a dozen threads and none of them seem to explain the origin of the name. "monkey boy unicorn" only returns one that is not it.

I actually had to think about it for awhile as it has been some time. It all started by some kook (and I have to think it was kite me) that had a unicorn as his avatar. So this person was claiming this and that and most was bullshit so I changed my avatar to a unicorn, and then in a manner of hours, a whole shit ton of people had unicorn avatars.

It was a cornicopia of unicorns. Anyways, that was how I became the unicorn master. then unicorns started popping up all over the place and then Kramer bought a boat that was ALREADY named the unicorn so fuck, it was just the universe trying to bless us.

If you missed out on the whole kiteme douchebag from hell threads, they are a pretty funny read. It all started with this one (aka, old fuels are the best kites to learn on)..

Then Phil dug up his photo and made it his avatar. Which spawned this thread...

and of course,like 10 people copied his photo and made it their avatar. It was classic. The second thread is actually pretty fucking funny. The thing exploded with like 30 posts in an hour.

It spawned my decal idea that never took off: Sad

My search also brought up another classic NWkite flame war turned ugly. The hapless "channel marker" went to kitescoop for love and affection. Of course they chewed him up and spit him out. LOL

Ditto. The site has been lacking something for a while. Im mostly a lurker but Ive been missing some familiar names and funny reads. Sure I see a new wave of names, but the comedy... without it its just a bunch of people talking about kiting...
I came down, had no 9m, and had to use my snowkite last year at rufus (its a flysurfer) and found myself thinking about channel marker. THAT was fun shit to read!

Ahhh yes!! it was blow me a kiss. I couldn't remember the kook in question. I got like zero work done that day but I swear I was in tears when I logged on and saw like 10 people with unicorn avatars. Specially Gman's mutant robotic dolphin unicorn fight avatar.
