DODGE CITY, KS yearly average: 13.7. An average that high means frequent strong winds. Here's
Wilson Reservoir in central KS west of Salina and 10 miles north of I-70.

Prevailing wind is SW. Guess where the big swells are? And I do mean BIG. Another one that lines up
along the wind line is Meredith north of Amarillo, TX. There they blast sirens when the wind comes up.

If pole surfed them both on big days but they really beg to be kited. Especially Wilson, that place
is beautiful and the water is slightly saline and very clean.
