It is a yummy tasting bird that is threatning to shut down the Oregon North Coast to kiting. Everyone should do thier enviromental duty and have some plover wings today..... No plover, no beach closure...

Let the stupid birds move to other areas of the beach that are not so heavily used. I'm familar with concerns about federal overreach regarding the protection of endangered species and their habitats but it sure does become tiresome when much of the opposition to endangered, threatened species, and other environmental/habitat enhancement plans comes from people that are so motivated by their own desires and self-interest that they have a difficult time looking past how it inconvienences them. I appreciate when an enviromental/conservation plan has future populations(your children and theirs) in mind.
I believe that whether the conservation approach is in regard to a plover, salmon, bear, tuna, sturgeon, butterfly, or any other animal, the goal of protecting a seemly minute aspect of the natural balance contributes to protecting and increasing the overall health of the entire ecosystem.
