22 Days till the ION PHOTO AWARD!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is how the Contest & Slideshow will go down. Put together your teams of 5 or more and email your sign up info by August 6th. Or, just come to the Slideshow Award Party on August 19th at the Copper Salmon.
Lifestyle, Nature & Wind Sports. Be creative. Have fun! Keep in mind you are trying to impress your audience.

FRIDAY August 18th, 8pm: Meet at Copper Salmon
- Pick up: TShirts, Stickers, Drink Tickets
SATURDAY August 19th, All Day:
- Go Anywhere, take photos of your team
- Free drinks at the Kite Spit
9pm: Copper Salmon
- Submit 10 best photos
10pm: Slideshow Round 1
11pm: Slideshow Round 2
All Night: Music by DJ Dave

RULES & SLIDESHOW
WHAT YOU NEED
- Digital Camera
- Computer to burn 10 photos on a CD or memory stick
- At least 5 wild friends
SUBMIT 10 PHOTOS
- all photos must contain ION logo
- 5 must contain windsurfing or kiting (action or equipment)
- only 3 photos allowed with non-team members
- only minor Photoshop manipulation allowed (no effects, stitching or pasting)
PHOTO FORMAT
- Size: photos will be sized to fit TV screen
- Resolution: approx. 4MB each image
- Color: RGB
SLIDESHOW ROUND 1
- 10 photo slideshow per team (standard 5 sec show created by ION)
- Audience votes by ballot for their favorite team
SLIDESHOW ROUND 2
- Top 3 teams advance from Round 1: same 10 photo slideshow (standard 3 sec show created by ION)
- Audience votes for final winners by Clap-o-Meter
WINNERS
- Honorable mention: $100 & SHWAG
- Runner Up: $200 & SHWAG
- Grand Prize Winner: $1,000 & SHWAG
* Photos will be posted on www.ion-essentials.com <http://www.ion-essentials.com> website
** Winning photos will be used for media event coverage only

Yeah you guys made it to the finals, and were just a couple points behind first on the clap-o-meter. Too bad if you guys could have all stayed you might have been able to push it over the top. 
Anyway good photos from all, it was really cool to see people get creative with pics when the wind wasn't cooperating. |

Damnit! Thats killer we made the final though. Too bad half my team was under 21 and couldn't stay for the voting.
Overall though, awesome event. Fun day and we all went home with a ton of swag. Might want to post the 21 and over thing next time though...I know there were a few teams where only one or two members out of 5 were over 21. And did anyone else catch the late afternoon stevenson rally session? Didn't see that coming...

You did a great job Ian- thanks for hussling Lance & Jobe & your team... I PERSONALLY LOVE ION MAN our gorge kite superhero!
SO... Wed at 7pm. We are working on the projector and I am confident we will have a great re-show.
ALSO... Online slideshow coming.
AND SO MUCH MORE... can I just say I was WOW'ed!!!! All the teams (mine included) exceeded my expectations- I had no idea what we were all capable of! You are all AMAZING- thank you for inspiring such creativity and executing such an impeccable display of talent!
See you all Wed and we can congratulate ourselves some more- BECAUSE WHO DESERVES IT MORE THAN US!!!!! |
