Also check out the Rip Curl F-Bomb. With the hood up, it's comfortable down to temps I'd rather not be out in. The fireskin lining adds a lot of warmth. I personally like Xcel and Rip Curl better than the other brands because they fit me better (big shoulders).

have been wearing a oneill mutant for a few seasons now. love the suit, probably the same as any other equally priced suit.

but the zip off hood is the way to go.
i used to have a seperate hood and a normal suit, and it worked OK, but the hood stretched out the neck of the suit, so when worn without a hood, it flushed easily.
