Fri Oct 01, 10 11:54 am Best way to fix leaky valve |
|
|
While down at Newport last Wednesday I discovered that I have a leaky valve (slightly cracked between the input and the fatter base of the valve). I did a quick-fix using some random Chinese superglue that got me through the session that day. However, I'm going to Maui next week and would really like to go without buying a new kite and/or other stuff.
Is there a good way to seal a small crack on a valve without spending a lot of money or time?
PS - The leak is on a 5 strut kite - second one in (not the smallest - not the center). The valve is there primarily as part of a one pump system. It doesn't serve any other function. _________________ --------------------------------

Just do what I did... attempt to repair the leak yourself by removing the bladder and replace the valve and few tiny holes that were found to be leaking. Then reinstall the bladder only to find out that it still leaks....go back the first step and repest the procedure about 5-6 more times. Then give up and drop the kite off at airtime in Hood River then simply return 24 hours to pick up your kite with a full set of brand new bladders that hold air just like brand new..
Airtime made me so happy.. _________________ It's all good |
