THE FINALE

After eleven nights of racing which began back in April, Thursday night will see the FINALE of the 2010 Cabrinha Race Series…and it will take the final night to decide who stands on the podium, and who makes up the coveted the top ten.

Going into the final night, Chip Wasson has the advantage with only Stefaans Vijoen in a position to catch him. Joey Pasquali, Geoff Headington and Eric Due will be battling to see who take the last spot on the podium.

Chris Brown, Kevin Richards and Marcello Segura pretty much have the next three spots locked up, with William Morris, Eric Geleynse, and Frank Wittke fighting for the remaining spots in the top ten…so there’s a lot of important racing to finish on Thursday. There is also official scoring to be finalized and one more throw out to be tallied.

To explain…the “preliminary official” results currently posted by the St. Francis include all racers who have participated, however, only those race results by those who have signed up for the season series and completed their race committee responsibility will be counted. Example: if the final results for one night had Wasson first, Adam Koch second and Stefaans third, those results for Wasson and Stefaans are currently reflected in the preliminary results as 1 point for Wasson and 3 pts for Stefaans. But when the official final results are tabulated, Wasson will remain with his 1 pt, but Stefaans will be scored with 2 points rather than 3 points as Adam’s results will not be counted.

After the races this Thursday, there will be the third and finale FREE drawing at the bar at the St. Francis. Although the racing concludes this Thursday, there is more excitement and surprises ahead. Look for the GRAND PRIZE for the 2011 Cabrinha Race Series Champion to be announced next week by Ozone Travel. That’s not all, a second, SPECIAL PRIZE will also be announced by Ozone Travel in two weeks. So stay tuned, there’s MORE.

The Cabrinha Race Series is sponsored by Cabrinha, Ozone Travel, and Captain Kirk’s, and hosted by the St. Francis Yacht Club
