I'm thinking about going somewhere there is wind tomorrow (Sunday). I'm kind of upset I missed yesterday and possibly today out at SI.

Anybody know where it will be blowing tomorrow?

Western Gorge is supposed to be cloudy, cool, and gusty.
Eastern Gorge looks warmer, sunnier, and steadier.

From NOAA:

EASTERN COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE SUN SEP 5 2010
.TODAY...MOSTLY SUNNY IN THE MORNING THEN BECOMING PARTLY CLOUDY. WINDY. HIGHS 62 TO 67. WEST WIND 15 TO 25 MPH INCREASING TO 25 TO 35 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

Come on Monkeyboy, I really didn't think it was too bad yesterday at Rufus. The gusts were just fine....when the wind would lull you just had to try to be on a swell and you could stay on plane for the next gust. I had a great day Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

umm, you were kiting at the sandbar on labor day weekend..... I heard the wind wasn't that great there either.

I'm just bitter as I completely trashed my new (to me) 8m havoc. Sad Evil or Very Mad

riding a wake skate with a 5m fixed in gusty 20-30 is fucking nuts.
-even with shoes.

but worth it (almost) when dropping into a sizable swell on a skate.
that's just trippy

river nose is for pussies, lol
power flushed my sinuses in some of those gusts.

fixed bar looked fun - great swell and saw some mindbending space shots from Tak

and Monkey are you the first to go full retard at the new improved Bingin launch - sounded exciting

I don't think there was anyone to blame really. I will say this though, land from the upstream side of the rock. I came in down stream and stood on the sand bar and I couldn't see my kite when it went over the ridge where Nak was standing. That is until I saw the leading edge pointed toward the sky Shocked Shocked Shocked

Practice those releases boys and girls. That could have been an ugly one...really ugly.

I'd tell you all that you should be coming out here... But then you would be in OK. And I'm not sure I wish that on anyone...

I left Bingen after the clean-up, headed to Rowena via The Dalles, got scared, then headed to Hood River. When I passed Bingen on the Oregon side, no one was at Bingen anymore. When I left Bingen, there were at least 4 kites on the water. Not very good, huh?

Sunday was friggin awesome at Lyle. 6M RPM with the twin tip. Sure rocked the socks off of Saturday at Hood River. That was horrendous. Was cool to see the sailboats ripping upwind.
