I would like to kite Jones Beach this evening. Can someone tell me how to get there and where the kite spots are? Thanks in advance!

I found it! Thanks. another question though - How long of a drive is it from p'town. I am actually in stevenson, so trying to figure out how long it will take me to get there. No wind here in the gorge today.

From West Portland it takes me about 1:20 minutes. Sometimes I go hwy 30 all the way and sometimes I take I-5 to Longview, cross the bridge and hit hwy 30.

So, coming from stevenson on wa-14, I could take wa-14 to I-205 and then up to longview and cross over. So, I am probably looking at a 2 hour travel time. Does that sound right?

2hrs would be about right. Jump on 84 to 205 if you want to make the best time.

coming from stevenson will definitely take you longer. you might be able to cut to a 1.5 hours if you throttle on 1-205 and 1-5.

not sure what the directions look like that you found but i always bang a right off of hwy 30 at mile marker 66, cross the tracks and bang another right, wrap around the pulp trees and cross the canal bridge and then bang a left. head straight to the water and then bang a left and in about a .25 mile you'll see the parking area.

it shoudl be good there today. i'll see a out there around 2pm.

Here's the thing. I have to work until 4pm. Would go straight there - so I am trying to figure out if the wind will hold from 6-8pm. I have a 7m kite but only 126 lbs....
