I am heading to HR next week and then the coast.

Would anyone care to elaborate on the coastal locations listed here as well as some others? The PSKite site is almost identical in info.

I may be staying in Cannon Beach, is Sunset worth the drive, or could I just kite there?

I am also interested in further north like The Pond.

Any info would be appreciated, I just don't want to show up and end up being "That Guy".

It works really well. Sunset is about 8 miles south of " the Ponds" but the ponds are not in the ocean; it is a lagoon area at the river mouth of the columbia river. The south jetty is about a 1/3 of a mile west ie the Pacific Ocean. The south jetty is just north of lot b. . .Cannon Beach can be fun, but lots of people are rarely blows hard enough for the N/nw winds, which are the summer winds. . . Cannon blows more/is sailable more with the sw winds and that transpires in the winter/stormy weather.

In 13 days (just got back)I was on the coast between Fort Stevens and Newport I was on the water 2 times. The second time didnt even count. As for kiting it sucked big time. Unless a new system is coming just stay at Hood River. It was F-ing cold too! Thank goodness there is lots to see on the coast or it would have been a complete bomb trip.

I was worried about that. We haven' been getting much in the Seattle area either.....frustrating summer.

I was keeping the coast as an option because HR seems to be delivering easterlies lately.

I'll just bring the bike and hit Post Canyon if I get skunked I guess!

Thanks
