Looks like fun, but the ground is definitely much harder than water when you crash Sad

Paragliders can still fly with just half a wing if they need too. These guys lose one line and its over. Kites aren't designed for soaring. That said, it looks fun as hell.

That's pretty cool. You can tell the hill just on shore is really diverting the wind into an updraft but still the wind must be nuking there to keep a guy aloft indefinitely on a 9 meter kite.

Is that a question? Normally I would say yes that is "lit up" or "nuking" pretty hard but you can tell the hillside is redirecting the wind upward and that they are only able to maintain the lift when they are right next to the hillside. He drops pretty fast when he moves out to the water. Still though I imagine they are pretty over powered when kiting normally.

David Hamlin will be thrilled. It does look like a pretty cool wing/kite. I'm ordering one of the harnesses he's using (for paragliding, not kiting). Kortel makes some bitchen harnesses for PG and this one is designed for wagga. My favorite kind of flying.

It is a kite. Flysurfer Speed3. Short lines and a homemade rig that allows you to fly it a' la paraglider.

Aside from skills & guts you need the right spot and that one is just perfect.
