Got a mileage estimate yet? Diesel is a good choice for big rigs like that.

My rig has a Chevy 350 and gets sub 10 MPG.

Here's my idea for a rig. Found it on Craigslist for $900. Put on wheels/tires and stickered it up. Runs and drives like a champ!.....It's only missing a NWKite tag! LOL

@ the Wind Slither.
Been at that spot a time or two.
The first was in 2001 iirc with Adam Koch & Will James.
They had traffic stopped to catch the action.

Here is my newly aquired kite/surf rig.
1990, 21 feet, 80k miles with a chevy 350.
After a major tune up it almost gets 10 miles per gallon.
We are leaving for a two week oddessy in a few days and I'm so glad we will not be pitching a tent every night. MPG be damned! Traveling in style is more important.

Good find on the rig BettyB!

Hein's got us beat on gas mileage for sure. His little Saturn is pimp. I think we got about 14mpg this weekend but I was also crusing at 65 most of the trip.

Super fun this weekend at the coast

Is that a 5.4 liter V8 in your rig Drew?

Anyone know where to get estimates for RV mpg ? I've been looking for a small class C like Drews .

Nice score Phil & Nicole and Slither on the new So. Coast spot!

Parking with the Van-bulance is going to be no problem. Pulling right up front!

Hey Chris,

Not sure about the engine size in liters. I know it is a 350. Honestly, 10 MPG is a bit of a stretch. In my years of owning campers, I've found that everyone lies about their mileage. With these older rigs, I don't think there is any reliable way to research MPG. A good piece of the puzzle is how you drive and the condition of the engine along with all the components.

Bottom line is if you are going to commit to owning an old, heavy camper, you've got to be prepared to dish out some cash. The other day I kissed a curb at 20 miles an hour and it cost $188 for a new tire. I just smile and break out the plastic.
