Due to a NO wind forecast.... the Blowout is off. Special thanks to NAISH for stepping up to help. To all the BOD and volunteers... THANKS.

It's a bummer but mother nature gets the last call.

Would anyone be interested in running an "old school blowout" if it is not rescheduled.

No sponsors, no schwag, no loudspeakers, no liability waivers, just a bunch of kiters raging down the river en mass. We could probably arrange a chase boat or at least a car to pick up any stranded kiters on the WA and OR side.

Personally, I think it would be pretty damn cool. Just trying to gauge the interest level.

You could always join the sailing downwinder (41 miles) in August.
Just be careful kiting under the HR bridge and the power lines in Bingen.

You can always just do the BlowOut 17 mile downwinder on your own.

Steve B. did the course 5 times over a 2 day period a couple of weeks ago.

Matt and Monkeyboy,
Why don't you apply your efforts to helping a rescheduled Blowout race? We always need volunteers to help make our Gorge a better kiting experience for all.

We cancelled this weekends Blowout. Didn't say anything about not rescheduling. Stay tuned for more info.

My point is join up and be part of the solution. We can use your help.

If the wind is looking good next week I've got a bunch of kids that say let's do it. Our clan can supply two people for registration, two for launching, three for setting up the floating docks next Friday, and at least two shuttle cars from HR to Stevenson after the race and one or two cars to shuttle back from HR in the morning.

All in the Bolstad's will commit about 24 manhours of effort to supporting the event. (yes, I'm a part time cost engineer and I calc'd it out...)

The only thing we don't have is a boat or a jet ski. If we did we'd offer to be the sweeper crew.

Grom also suggested running a video camera at the finish line to make figuring out the finish time and sequence easy. One person filming, two or three catching kites.

Classic!! Is there still time to change the t-shirts to say "Boldstad Blowout 2010"?? Smile The video camera at the finish is a great idea.

This is a fun event to help out and it's not all day event so you can still get a session in and get some stoke. Tony, I'm still in South America or else I'd be in to help. Have fun.

Alright! CGKA coordination, Bolstad crew, Stormrider ski, Naish beer, some luck with the wind gods and we can do this next week!

Fund raiser, downwind madness, and BBQ on the lawn sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday!

Hey Kraemer!

Do you have someone that can operate our HD camera at the finish line?

Chooch with bum shoulder could help out. I arrive from the Midwest Friday evening but I could also help with registration and driving people back to Stevie.

Yeah I can do anything except boat support and launching. Shoulder is still really weak so I wouldn't be much help rescuing people on the water.
