Coastal Epic 6/24-6/25

Wow, amazing. I can't remember ever seeing so many kites and kiters ever. Even with 6 mile downwinders at times it even got a little crowded out there! Thanks to the coastal locals for letting all the northwest show up at their backdoor.

Awesome place with tons of room to hang up your wet gear and dry your kites. Tony and Mo are great hosts who made us feel right at home.

The Summer House crew got two epic downwinder days in this weekend, 2 downwinders each day. First day was Sunset -> Del Ray, second were both Shipreck -> Sunset. I did all the downwinders except my first on my 7m Waroo which was a blast. Last sesh was on the 7m and my skimboard, a little tough but very rewarding to ride the waves with.

The coolest part was seeing everyone from the Gorge, Portland, and Washington who all came to tear up some Oregon surf.

I used to wonder what to feed The RT. I was worried I'd have to sacrafice a goat, but now I know burgers do the trick!

As my sinuses drain and my knees pop back into place here in the desk chair, I have a new question: what does a troll use to soothe the workday blues?

The coast was a ton of fun! We downwinded from the Jetty to Sunset beach. Even the cops where helpful!!!!

I had 12 people in the back of the truck for the return trip. A few to many by police standards. So the Cop helped out and took four guys in his truck all the way back to the south jetty for us! The guys even got Junior police stickers!

You must have met Officer Wood. Cool guy. Former surfer from Calf. He gave me a warning for driving up above the ship wreck after 12:01. Then he BSed with me about his surfing days. The next day he stopped by to see if I had broken any more laws. Then offered me a drive up the beach for another downwinder.

No it wasen"t wood this guy had never surfed and he want to try kiting so we prety much explained it to him from the back of his patrol car. indeed the caost was epic with lots of great down winders with a bunch of cool cats. it will be a remebrable coast visit
