That is soooo awesome! I knew it was just a matter of time before we saw Ashton out there tearing it up.
Good going Ashton!

Nice work Ashton! That kid already has more strapless time logged than I do. Impressive.

Looks like somebody needs an inflatible kite for next year...

Makes me think I need to get my eight year old out there. Got him on the trainer kite already, but haven't ventured to an inflatable or on the water yet.

Mind sharing your training program?

I am very interested in making kite boarding a family sport as soon as my kids are ready. It beats the heck out of standing on the sideline watching soccer games.

This thread provides some interesting perspectives on when and how to get your kids kiting.

salmonslayer, good find with the pskite thread. lots of good stuff in there and also good stuff on the "epic kites for kids" thread on kiteforum.

i too am excited to be out kiting with both my boys someday. but it's definitely gonna be a slow and methodical process.

the point is made in both threads above that kids simply don't have the years/maturity to know what to do or react correctly in a bad situation. we all know that many adults don't react correctly either!

i'm gonna stick to the 2m trainer kite this summer and for the extended.

got a Victoria wombat skimboard that is soft and cushy on the top and edges, so he can't get too bruised by the board.

gonna have him ride that trainer and skim until he's all PRO.

will likely consider something like cameron's 4m junior pro (later). but will also prob have a jet ski for constant assist before that.

it's not his responsibility to keep from getting hurt. it's mine as his dad!!
