Great News from the CGKA the MARINA BEACH is now open for kiteboarding!

This access was gained though the hard work of the CGKA Board members. The access is open on a trial bases that is contingent upon Kiteboarders following the Rules and Regulations that are listed below. Due to the fact that this is a down wind launch we ask that this launch to only be used by Advanced riders. This is a huge WIN for us on access so please respect the local rules and respect all other beach users.

Signs will be up soon that distinguish the areas listed below but until then please use your best judgement on where these areas are.

Thanks everyone and we look forward to a great summer!

Yeah that is pretty freaking awesome.

From reading some of the CGKA meeting notes I thought it was just going to be a pump and dry only. Looking forward to having a new place to take the wife and kid to.

Thanks for the hard work guys,
Andy

After months and sometimes years of meetings with the Port and State of Oregon, It's good to see some of our projects finally coming around.
Special thanks goes out to Nick for all his hard work making this happen.

Now do your part and become a member. The bigger our membership, the easier it is to deal with City and State organizations.

Nice progress.

I may be missing something obvious but...

Why is launching on the east side of the launch area prohibited? Is it also a no-kite zone if someone launch's elsewhere?

That's fricken' kick a$$.

Guess us outta towners that visit rarely should toss 10 bones into membership, it's worth it for the acres of sand CGKA just acquired. Can't wait to Hood it up!

The west side of the Marina Beach is heavily used by other beach goers during the summer months. The east side is for Pump, dry and rig. Launching and landing is permitted on the north end of the Marina Beach. These regulation are set in place to avoid any interference or issues with other Beach goers. The Marina Beach has grown a lot in the past couple years and there is tons of space for us on the North and East side of the beach. Cheers!

Please keep in mind the CGKA worked with other user groups to obtain access to this launch. Lots of discussion took place, and compromises were made. Not sure I understand your question though, specifically where are you talking about? If you can clarify what you're asking about I can give the reasoning behind the decision.
