Grunt is different than power... The newer fuels do not fly as far back in the wind window making them less grunty... this is why i choose to fly the RPM which does sit back in the window, making it more grunty.
makes sense. I've always liked the Fuels in the waves. With the newer ones, they do get out in front of you pretty quick. I adjust by looping early, even when power is not an issue. A little different but fun.

I want a kite that sits back farther in the window. My rev's are good kites and all but when its gusty, the damn kites are so far ahead of me they are at the bar ordering drinks while I'm still trying to jibe. It really gets annoying with the smaller rev's(7) which is actually a sub-model called the slingshot "invert".

My 9M Rev I liked to call the "taco" for it's propensity to fold in half when falling back in the window.

Seriously, go back and try out some older fuels. 06s are perfect for what you are talking about.
The 07s are good too and a little more user friendly.
Just put a stopper ball on the fifth line far enough up that the kite flags enough but doesn't completely invert when flagged.
I recommend getting an 11m or 13m and taking it out on a steady lighter day and watch yourself pop and drop.

Plus 06/07s can be had pretty damn cheap anymore
Maybe try one of mine out when I come home...

Haha that's some funny shit. That kid needs to be piled like in "Stand by Me". Or rolled down the hill in a trash can. I love how he says how derogatory the word is then he calls himself a ginger.
Now that I think about it I'm a ginger too, so I'm going to go film a video right now and put it up on youtube. I'm with this guy.
Awesome!!! Now if only we could do that to people wearing board leashes....
Why you stressing Monkey? They'll do it to themselves eventually once the board catches up. _________________ The Slider Project, LLC

I remember, some time back, when there was some primate chatter about how dangerous those older C kites were.
I am with the impressive performance of the 05 through 07s. But stuff needs to be reliable and durable to be safe. I am on 07-09 fuels now and the differences are easily overcome by not focusing on such bullshit and just riding and enjoying the day.
I think fuels have been the best kites going since 05, the 04 weren't to bad and the 03 and 02s were the funnest to watch wankers on.
the 05 bar was clean and simple and improved by Rubs pro tweeks in 09. Too bad there are so proud of them with pricing.
no fuels without a white truck in the south.

Yeah, the pricing is a total joke. To make matters worse, the used market isn't really flooded with fuels so people are fetching decent prices for them.
All of SS prices are off the charts this year. Size for Size, they are now THE most expensive kites on the market.

HEy, your not stringers dad are you? That Ginger left his dad's $700 ss surfboard on the parking strip next to my house. "hey dude, remember when I was at your house two weeks ago, is my board still laying outside?"

Just my 2 cents on the 09 & 2010 Fuels.... 7 & 9m are awesome. 11m not as awesome. 13m, would rather not kite.
I agree with the Rev's in gusty conditions, damn you taco bender.
As far as people saying that C kites dont go up wind well, that is the biggest lie yet. The Fuel is best up wind, then RPM, then Octane / Rev.
