Was swapping out the bridle on one of my kites and noticed that one of the pigtails that attach the bridle to the LE was holding on by only one of the two strands...
I always check pre-flight:
- the pulleys aren't clogged with sand
- there isn't excessive wear on lines the pulleys travel
- the pigtails on kite lines look good
- chicken loop line has a few strands left where the bar crosses it and the center lines attach
- check the release on my kite leash for good measure
- and now I will also take a look at the bridle attachment points
unless kites are up - then I just charge out - and get some more practice as swim team capt... _________________ Go Deep!

That is the preferred method.
Screw it, I'll just make a pulley bar. That way it'll be easier to fix. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/10069384@N05/sets/ |

Glad you caught that hanging by a thread situation before it gave up on you half way thru a jump! Happened to me 2 years ago when a bridle line snapped as I was in mid air. The landing hurt!! Now I make a habit of checking all of the above mentioned after each session unless I'm dead tired! I definitely rather be safe than sorry!!
Hope that cell won't hinder the wind tomorrow! _________________ SAY WHAT YOU MEAN, MEAN WHAT YOU SAY |
