Good advice. Be the first on the beach for 2 hours till everyone shows around 1230. Then be the last on the beach as folks come in around 6pm. The wind isn't great at those times, but you won't hit anyone and probably won't piss anyone off either. You can do that and walk back up the beach till more folks arrive, but be aware that if you get into trouble there won't be anyone to help you... Unless you have a ton of time and patience, you would save yourself a lot of time and effort by just getting some lessons...

Thunderdome is a nickname for the sand spit. It can get pretty crazy out there with kooks tomahawking other kiters.
