Nicely written by someone who was quick to criticize my incoherent posts ( I deserved it)

I'd like to thank Hein's buisiness (Impact 3D) for machining and building our welding fixture. Thanks to Hein, our rover now has a soft spot for Hood River too
Thanks dude!

That is way cool! I am the Robotics club advisor at Newport HS and I will be sure to show my students these videos.
Matt Knudson was also a previous student of mine and has spent time talking to the high school kids. I am sure that you know him or of him as a OSU engineering prof and robotics advisor. It would be great to get to see the Mars robot in action sometime, maybe next year after the summer kiteboarding season is finished.

Congratulations to your team, Florian!
Anyone interested in engineering should take a close look at the design and how the team went about solving design problems. I think one of the elements that contributed to the team's success was to implement a simple, robust design utilizing proven off-the-shelf components. Maybe Spike can shed some more light on that and tell us what set their team and rover apart from the rest.
The website is nice too and I enjoyed trying out the simulator. I found a nice mound to park on for a pose. Very simple to drive.
Give it a try:

There was an section on What's next in Robotics in the latest edition (June 2010) of Electronic Products.

Engineers and Engineering will give us the solutions we need to conquer the world's challenges. Remember that only 100 years ago we could not yet fly.
