OT: iPad is great!

For all the techno geeks out there, I just got my iPad and I am impressed! Great sound from such a small package and it is plenty fast and fun to play with! Anyone else score one?

On a serious note, Have become a fan of Skype. When traveling its a great way to stay in touch.

Shame on companies for not loading the simplest things on the products right away. I don't like having to wait for version "2.0" in six months.

The fact that flash isn't supported does suck but I'm hoping they come out with a fix for it later. Overall its a fun gadget!

It's not that there is no fix. They purposely didn't include it. The industry wants to take market share away from Adobe. Same reason there is no flash on iPhones, Xbox, or Playstation.

forest, I had read that they didn't want to include flash for they feared that they would loose their all mighty control over apps. I love my i-phone but I loathe how controlling apple is.

Steve Jobs claims that Flash is too cumbersome and memory intensive for its purposes, but Forrest is right ... the real reason is that it is not an Apple platform. Less control = Less market share.

Regardless, I love my iPhone and am tempted for an iPad, but I can't justify the cost right now. Plus, early adopters are always screwed out of the updates that are soon to come (camera, webcam, etc).

If Flash was on the IPhone from the get-go then the AppStore concept probably would not be the juggernaut it is today.

It'd be much easier for developers to target Flash and get to every platform rather than one-off for IPhone. They could also bypass Apple and the Appstore altogether.

That said, forcing developers to create native apps probably created a lot better applications in the end than Flash apps.

And remember Apple could really give a shit what you want, its what Steve wants Very Happy

and that has worked pretty well for them since the IPod.

Anyone see the Tosh 2.0 review of the Ipad? It was freaking funny!! They used it as a golf ball and never even turned it on!! Luv it. Was funny S**t

Apple can suk it for thier restrictions!! But I couldn't live without my Iphone. Can't say the same for my Ipod, burned, smashed, pissed on and did a little Leprechaun dance on its grave... Twisted Evil

IMO, one of the coolest thing about the internet is the ability for anyone to submit content and programs (eg. craigslist, windonthewater, etc).

I hope this type of restrictive interface does not change the internet and make it more content controlled (like TV).
