Mon Mar 01, 10 2:14 pm Saturday was Kite-able. |
|
|
Saturday was kite-able at the Sandbar. Albeit skimboard and big kite in the kiddie pool, it was west wind, beautiful, and warm. Spring is almost upon us, so get your 5/4/3s out of the basement and get ready cause it's going to be one hell of a season!
My goals for this season:
Switch Back to Blind,
Blind Judge,
Back to Blind with a grab,
KGB,
Back Mobe
What are some of your goals for this season?

A little less ambitious than Forrest:
front roll
railey
worm burner
un-hooked in the surf
figuring out how to get out more with a kid!!
Stoked for the season!!

Definitely can relate. After one season of mixing kiting and parenting, realized at the end of last summer that I'd compromised my overall physical health by holding-out for going kiting rather than using the 2 hour windows (that would typically have) to just make-sure to get some exercise. This year, telling myself gonna ride my beater bike a lot more and not try to force kiting so much.
Which reminds me, my 1.5 year old has already mastered clean dirty puddle grabs.

1. Flat 3
2. Big air kite loops and getting more comfortable with kite loops in general.
3. Switch frontside wave riding on the right-handers.
(Note: alpine riding with the family was a little ho-hum, but last year I changed my snowboard bindings and forced myself to ride switch up there. Akward as hell at first, but now it's really starting to feel natural. Can't wait for that first NW day!!)
4. Nut up and hit some kind of obstacle/slider/kicker something!

We are working on a couple different things, including a event/contest, and trying to go more professional this year. Can't give out to many details but it will be a sick year.
A mini kicker would be sick, specially for wakeskate and skimboards!

A professional not-for-profit. What's the IRS code for that? j/k
To be honest, I like the idea of fewer 'events' and less 'pros'.

Unfortunately The Slider Project don't qualify as a non-profit, so The Slider Project pays tax.
Back to the topic at hand: I forgot to mention fronts to blind as well.

Hillcrest sports in Gresham has some 09 Ronix boots marked down from 420$ to 200$ sizes 10-11 I think. I'm 11 1/2 so I got some 09 closed toe alphas LF for 115$
