headed to the coast this weekend for fun, hoping to kite, but the forecast is calling for east winds. We'll be in Manzo, thinking the ponds, possibly some of the bays- anyone have some good beta for us? Looks like the wave seshs won't be happening.....
Thanks- |

A forecast for what the weather will be 4-5 days in the future isn't much more than a guess, especially this time of year. Keep watching the forecasts. _________________ Lets FLY |

Plenty of good surf sessions to be have with east winds in the forecast, but flying a kite probably isn't part of the equation. Do it the old school way by paddle power and leave the kite in the car... |

NOAA is saying 16/23, but it doesn't look like it's going to get too close to the mid teens yet. Trees are only kina moving. I'll probably be landboarding or buggying at manzo at low tide. |

Can you buggy at Manzo on east wind? I'd think it would be too messed up and lots of rotor. _________________ Lets FLY |

You can when it's above 10mph. If it's NE wind then south past town is better due to the mountain, but E or SE works anywhere. But the way north of the beach is always swirly no matter where the wind is blowing from. Also better to fly depower over fixed bridals sine there will be some turbulence with the E wind.
I'm on the beach now at north street, it's only windy enuf for sand castles. Ikiteblah forecast says it'll pick up and turn west but I have a hard time believeing it! |
