Woo Hoo! Leaving Friday or Saturday. (Depending on loads.) 7 or 8 days & no dry suit. Staying at the Coche Paradise. I'm hoping to get a day trip to Los Roques in too. 
Still haven't figured out what hotel to stay at in Caracas. The flight gets in too late to connect to anything, so we're stuck there for the first night. If anyone has any knowledge of a decent place to stay, maybe post that info here? Just looking for some place safe, close to the airport and reasonably priced if possible.
Also, I'm still looking for info on the best place to exchange money. Are there places on the island that give a decent rate? ( The official exchange rate is set artificially low by the government, apparently the real exchange rate is much better. )

Hi NAK,
Our office here in HR can help you out with that if you want. We can have a person meet you at the CCS airport even if you arrive very late. He would drive you to a hotel nearby where you can spend the night. He would then return you to the airport the next morning to catch your flight. It's what we do for our clients going to Margarita, Coche, or Los Roques. Also, if you want to go to Los Roques (highly recommended), you will need to go through CCS to do so. They had flights from Margarita to LR last year, but then one of those planes crashed so they discontinued those flights. You can call me at 541-387-0431 Monday - Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm. |

SWEET NAK! I heard you speaking w/ my co- worker when you called! It's is a great service to have some peace of mind when you arrive CCS. You are going to have a great time on Coche and Margarita! I wish it was me going. My last trip there, I was able to hit Los Roques, Margarita, Coche, and Aruba all n one shot. It took me 13 different flights to do it, but it was quite epic!
There has also been some recent changes to the exchange rates as well. Apparently Chavez is trying to combat the dual exchange by making the official exchange rate comparable to the black market rates. This just means more savings for you. |

H2olm set me up with an escort & Hotel in Caracas & flights From Caracas to Margarita. Very cool. Nothing like leaving it till the last minute.  Doh! ( Gotta love this forum! ) Tomorrow It's Atlanta then Caracas, followed by a night hiding in our hotel room. Saturday it's off to Margarita for a night, then off to Coche! |
