Hey NWKiter's, I’m very excited to announce this year’s all inclusive
guided snowkite trips. This year’s trips will have an upgraded package of
remote three-star accommodations, chef prepared meals, full van
transportation (with an all-enclosed trailer for gear) and guided snowkite
support, all located in the Northwest’s premiere snowkite destination,
Idaho’s Camas Prairie.
I’ve spent a lot of time searching for ideal locations and trust me; Camas Prairie is snowkite
paradise!
Check out the website at http://www.snowkitingidaho.com and as Warren Miller says “if you
don’t do it this year, you’ll be one year older when you do.” Why
wait? Looking forward to hearing from you and feel free to forward this on
to your “good” friends. Get a group together and the prices go down or
come solo. Either way, it’s a smokin’ deal. Hope to see you next at
the Boise airport!
Hello Nwkiter’s I’m very excited to announce that Idaho Kitesports has found the first parasitic Snow kiting “company”, The Thermal project, Or under the super original name of snowkitingidaho.com. But not to be confused with snowkiteidaho.com which has been online for 5 years.
For the last 6 years I and another guy A.M.G. Have researched, compiled weather data, explored, tuned, and successfully executed snowkite tours. With our proven model we have supplied clients with gourmet chef prepared meals, the best lodging available, light winds sessions when there is “apparently no wind”, snowmobile assisted down winders, and comfortable transportation.
Brad Gordon talks about “this year’s trips” was there a last years?
While brad was “searching for ideal locations” we were already operating clinics.
I looked at his website, it is well built. It looks professional until you read between the lines. His phone number is Washington area code, he’s never lived in Fairfield, or Idaho, and every picture on his website is from Utah. Looks pretty local to me.? If you are going to pay for a local tour guide, the better choice is obvious.
Being a great rider doesn’t make you a great tour guide. Copy and paste business ethics doesn’t sit well with anybody. High jacking our proven business model tells me that he can’t come up with an original concept or does he respect what we have worked so hard for.
Competition is health but being original is your ticket to the show. He didn’t even try to be original. He even used the same Warren miller quote I have on my website. Who is this guy?
He is not the first person to recognize what an asset the Camas Prairie is, but unlike brad, these other kite schools, organizations, and tours groups book through us, we offer a discounted package to them, they in turn sell the package to their clients and we take care of all the ground work.
Brad…. I am so glad we could do all the work for you, if you need any other info you can find it at www.idahokitesports.com
Analogy open a coffee shop on Starbucks patio called “Barstucks”. Park a “Bells Taco” truck in the parking lot of taco bell

The question the NW kiter might also ask is... who are you? Obviously you don't live Oregon, so Brad has every right to take a group to Idaho as you do to Three Mile/Roosevelt/Rufus.
Nothing to improve quality of a service than a little competition. Brad has been dedicated to snow kiting for the last three years and has spent lots of time out in Montana, Idaho, and Utah.

...but it IS the American way.
Imitation may be the biggest compliment but when it's your livelihood there is no sweetness to having competitors.
See ya out there,

Brad is a great guy and has been apart of the NorthWest community for a long time. If you feel like you've been cheated wouldnt it be in your best interest to talk to brad and express your feeling directly with him instead of blatantly posting on a public forum? As a level of intregity i would think you would want to establish a positive business relation and maybe you could have found a great ally and work together. I will be sure to refer anyone to Brad and wish him all the best with his current business venture.

(edit: sorry to come off a lil agro but in my opinion you could have handled things in a more professional manner)

LOL, Ryan, you've done more to take business away from your organization by posting this childish rant than Brad did opening up a competing business.
Not sure if "Fool" or "Tool" is the right word...

Ryan and Brad are both nice guys. I think we met him last year one of our trips. Hey Ryan who makes the kitesite videos?
Ryan I understand your frustration with Brad's new biz but I think Sol- flyer is right prob better to pm him and talk to him about it privately. Maybe you guys could join forces? Brad is a hell of a snowkite and would be an added benefit for any company and I am sure he could use your experiance with the area.

As an entrepreneur I can see where Brad got his idea and motivation from, money making and like someone said above it IS the American way.
On the flipside though, piggy backing off a fellow Kiter's efforts and representing it as your own is just chintzy business. Ry & AMG spent countless hours touring, guiding and teaching (paid and unpaid )anyone with interest in Kiting the amazing terrain.
Shortcutters are never rewarded--Brad is a cool enough guy and a great kiter but who just shows up and pretends they know the area better than the locals?
It'd be like me who's kited half a dozen times in HR showing up at the spit and putting up Posters--'hey come see me for guided tours'
I'd be laughed off the beach and prolly end up in fisticuffs with Forrest.
Pictures are worth a thousand words, in this case the guy on the bike is the old guard of the Camas and the Goat is Brad riding their coattails......see ya out there.

I can't decide which is weaker, your pissing and moaning that someone runs a business similar to yours or bringing your drama to the forum.
Competition is part of business. At some point you have to ask yourself, "Who looks worse in the eye of your potential consumers?" (i.e. the people on this forum), someone that you accuse of "parasiting" your business or the guy that feels the need to air his personal grudges on a public forum?
I would say the latter..As when I go on a vacation I don't want to hear the bitching about local political bullshit. If you run a good trip, word of mouth spreads and you get business... I mean out yourself in his shoes..what the hell would YOU put on your website. ... Ummm, I don't live here and therefore I don't know shit but there are locals that may know better? I looked at his site and read the home page, seems fairly obvious to me that he lives here and travels to Idaho to guide people.
Perfectly legit in the adventure sports guiding realm. How many Everest expedition guides live in Nepal?
BTW.. When I type in snowkiteidaho.com I'm navigated to snowkitesoldier.com? Did you organize the snowkite soldier event?

Announcing the ORIGINAL Slither Snowkite Tours, with service to Camas Prarie.
These tours are specially designed for NWK forumsters and their budgets.
Deluxe Package:
1. Lay back and cherry pick a sweet forecast. You're unemployed so why commit to dates?
2. Pile in somebody's van, tell em you'll pay em back for gas next week!
3. Find 2 reasonably sober people that can talk and have them check into a room at the Prarie Inn. Then split the room 12 ways.
Standard Package:
1. Hitchhike to Hill City
2. Check into the Snowmobile shelter

Bring me the beat up vans, cum stained sleeping bags, and dirty hotel room floors in the middle of nowhere. Now THAT is a vacation!!. Shit, Slither tours will probably also make you a custom theme song for your trip....
