Just returned from a great trip to Sydney's Northern Beaches with lots of great kiting and surfing. Definately a good winter destination for warm winds and water! A handful of great kite spots and countless surf breaks, all within an 18 minute ferry ride to Sydney.

Waves are so different from our coast...steep and punchy right off the beach...super fun even on small days. This was our first return after living there 7 years ago, so didn't take many pics...just had a blast revisiting all our old favorites!

Thumb's Up

This was my flat water refuge when learning my 2 line Naish back in the day.

Long Reef is best on the Southerlies. Off shore bommies throw these unreal green slabs.

I only packed a twin and was missing my surfboard for some "shorey" smacks.

NE days are the typical summer pattern. Glassy waves in the morning and 12M by afternoon.

Manly is a rockin little beach town with nice resturants and shops. We had a big southerly roll through and the Ferry Bower point break was going off.

Looks like an awesome trip! Glad you guys got to go back and enjoy it. Rollo and I might have to head that way next winter (or actually summer down under).
