I love how it says under the $76K price tag, " We make it easy" Just think, you still have to fill it up, maintain it, and insure it. Ouch.

It's a nice boat to ride behind. My uncle had one for a while, until the bank took it back.

For that kind of dough I'd expect at least 100mph but that tub would be doing good to bust 45. At least it would throw up a wake that could bust your dock loose. POS
Shocked

Malibu's are hardly a POS. Very well made boat and one of the best out of the box wakes on the market.

Def not built or propped to go 100 mph

river , lake or salt ,
Bought the hull had it painted , bought and installed the engine (5.7l indmar 310hp ) controls etc ,had it painted and a top made . It's all aluminum .
No ski tower as it's a jet and has a minimal wake . I'm getting about 5-6 ft off the water on jumps as it is . Good rescue boat for downwinders , when I can convince my daughter to hang out with dear old dad .
The wife and I don't like campgrounds so this gets us away from it all .
Also there are very few rules and this thing at 18ft performs like a jet ski ! I can do some wild spins , dead stops , and you can even make it spin 180*on it's nose , thats a scary one Shocked I only need 2-3" water on step .
Uses about 7gal an hour playing and 5.75 easy running top speed 47mph , fast enough for me .
as thrilling as kiting at times
You only live once so might as well make the best of the little time we have here eh!
Jack

I like how it says we make it "easy" (their quotes not mine)

I think its funny how a wakeboarding boat is actually designed to be inefficient.

large wake = lots of drag

looks like they build them pretty inefficiently too with a price tag like that.

I think the ultimate irony would be to see an environmentalist wakesurfing. haha Laughing

that isn't exactly what I was thinking but yes kitesurfing does seem to create significantly less pollution.

I was thinking more of a guy who drives his hybrid tahoe to the marina to go wakesurfing behind his $90K boat

when are they going to start making electric wakeboarding boats? seems like a good application for lead batteries considering most people go riding for maybe an hour in the morning and then the boat sits on the lift the rest of the day.

could just as easily use the batteries instead of phat sacs and leave it on the charger when its at the doc 23 hours out of the day.

not to mention electric motors are very good at low end torque and there would be no exhaust fumes for wakesurfing or wakeboarding.

seems like a no brainer to me. except for towing and using a lift would be significantly more tricky if the boat always weighs 10000lbs
