Condolences. Never got the pleasure of meeting Steve in person, but I truly enjoyed his presence here and through some email exchanges.
A loss for our community. RIP Steve. |

| It sucks that the only thing I can say is that I'm sorry to see you go Steve. You were always a very cool cat and your presence will be missed. |

Bummer news. Cool guy.
I found out Steve was fighting an illness when I bought a board from him about 8 months ago. His attention to detail in wanting me to know the board was perfect and how he would ship it to me was over the top. Needless to say the board was perfect and you could have driven a truck over the shipping box.
Mocean.....I hope you're enjoying riding that perfect wave anytime you wish with no pain. You've earned it amigo. |

I lost a best friend to this shitty (to say the least) disease in 2005. She was 32. She sounds very similar to Steve in his overall supercoolness and his desire and ability to truly LIVE even while fighting a disease with a poor prognosis. She completed a triathelon 3 weeks before she died, among other feats.
We can all learn a lot from people like Steve and my friend Summer.
Knowing them and remembering them can be transformative.
Peace to all who knew him. |

Steady winds Steve and our condolences to his family and friends. I don't think we ever met him in person just knew of him through the forum here. A good man who will be missed. As it's been said; as much as you can, live life like everyday might be your last.

Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread. Steve always had good karma and everyone seemed to know that when meeting him in person or exchanging banter on this forum. He was a kiteboarding ambassador for the Newport area that made everyone feel welcome to this area. His presence will always be part of the surfing and kiteboarding experience here on the central coast.
Ride like there is no tomorrow...
