| Blew out my 3/2 in the spring and just forgot about it in the nice weather. Anybody got a favorite? |

I can't say enough good things about my O'Neil Psycho II and Psycho freak suits.
I have a 6,5,4 for the coast that is the best thing to ever happen to my coast riding!!! Also rock a 3-2 and shorty to round it out.
After years and years of being a cheap bastard, I will never buy anything less than the top level suit by any quality manufacturer. The difference is that big!!
I know Gorge Performance has the O'neil lineup, so go check them out.
a 4-3 or 3-2 you can get away with a middle of the line, but for the coast.. save up the $400-$500 and buy the best suit you can!!! _________________ Liquid Force Kiteboarding in the Pacific Northwest.
Demo's always available to those on this forum.. PM me to schedule. |

| I agree with Tekko, Oneill makes some great stuff. I think the Mutant is one of the best cold water suits you can get. It comes with both a hood or neck gasket that you can zip on or off. SUPER warm and ultra flexible. It fits like a glove and keeps me warms even trhough the winter months in the columbia. When I put on my gloves and booties I don't have any problems staying warm even in the winter months. |

Same-here; 18 years of windsport action in ghetto rubber. Finally bucked-up and bought a high quality 5/4 suit 2 years ago. It was a revelation. Have since replaced the rubba'-quiver with the goods. Best $ spent in terms of my kiting. _________________ revitalized by muthu-nachu |

I second the 5/3 ripcurl f-bomb.
Although one day if I win the lottery I am going to try the patagonia for surfing.

...Promotion 's.... also rock the casbah. Great warranty on their stuff (plus, they do great repair jobs on all wetsuits as well.)
Nice folks + great suits...
highly recommend them |

| Any issues with "elvis legs" and these suits. Looking mostly for spring suit, have a killer ripcurl 4/3 for cold water. |

I'll respectfully disagree with Jim's review of the Mutant with the exception that it is flexible (read: "cold"). The build quality is pretty good but the Mutant is not a winter suit IMO. It got thin in the armpits pretty fast and promotes douching in the neck b/c of a fairly small overlap. Good spring/fall suit though.
I talked to Ben at Oregon Surf Shop this weekend, he wears these and said he really liked 'em. Warm, flexible, thinking of getting a 4/3 instead b/c they are hot.
I've got a Patagucci 4/3. Very warm, too warm for a summer suit, looking forward to wearing it as the weather gets cold. Last edited by barfly on Wed Sep 02, 09 3:05 pm; edited 1 time in total |

If your looking for a great spring suit stop by 2nd Wind and check out the Xcel suit Pepi has there. Its perfect for spring in the Gorge. 2m shorty with long sleeve arms. I have been using it for the last 3 months and am really happy with the build quality and it keeps me warm even in the cold Hood River in the spring. |

I totally love my O'neil mutant as well. I have kited every month out of the year in at and have NEVER been cold. I also like the fact that it has no zipper. Some people say they don't like that design though, so try it out for yourself. The whole removable hood thing though is pretty dope in my book.
I would stay away from Promotion wetsuits unless they fit your properly. I have only seen one person that had the arms/shoulders big enough so that there wasn't gobs of loose neoprene in that area. Maybe that is there wind sport specific design for freedom of motion or something. Who knows, who cares. |

LOL - I was just about to recommend a promotion wetsuit. I gotta a 3/2 promotion and it fits perfeclty - all those steroids I have been taking have totally paid off!!!
Cold water recomendation - I have a 5/4 excel infinity - I love it. Keeps me very warm - however, it may be too warm. Seriously, I have a 3/2 promotion and a the 5/4 excel infinity - sometimes I wish i had bought the 4/3 excel infinity instead and just layered up because the 5/4 keeps me a little too toasty at times And the 3/2 just isn't enough.
Anyways, for cold water - fer ser an excel infinity!! 5/4 if you want to be super toasty!! _________________ Still rockin gojos, *ssless chaps, and ankle weights! |

No you're right. Kiting in them is fine. I should have noted that they aren't the warmest suits for surfing, or getting doused a lot - which I tend to do either way |
