Saw the fire too.

Crazy.. when I drove through Bingen at about 10pm last night, the entire treeline/skyline of the hills east of HR was ablaze! Flames shooting into the moonlit sky as high as the trees that were burning and generating them!!

Good to read in the news report that only 1 out building burned and that the blaze was east of all of the housing developments up there.

Maybe it burned enough to clear out some open areas to snowkite up there??

Last night I could see it over the ridge, at first I thought it was the moon but then I realized that the moon was way over in the western sky. Quite impressive to see at night

It's kind of ironic that I just emptied out my house in Mosier a couple of weeks ago when I moved to Ventura.

I just called up my next door neighbor and asked him how close the fire is. He said he can't tell because the smoke is too thick. He said hot embers were falling out of the sky like rain.
