Uncureable? I think all of the many cancer survivors out there would disagree. I personally know several who have beaten cancer, and how about a famous example, Lance Armstrong beat cancer only to go on to win numerous Tour de Frances.
Although "curing cancer" is not ever going to happen in our lifetime since it's a diverse, constantly evolving disease by nature, we can still make great gains in our ability to fight the disease and make the procedures more affordable/available (more of a healthcare debate). Obviously people can beat cancer, so research of effective procedures, which fundraising like this supports, will make survival more likely and more accessible. |
