Was just checking out the Scappoose sensor and it said at 3am it was 34 degrees!!!

Man that's cold, no wonder that Sauvies water is so frigid still.

That's okay, as long as the water is getting warmer, right? I've been watching the marine and Bonneville temps and it looks like they're almost beginning to flip, at least for the central coast.

Its air temps are warming up fast, and Scappoose is already reading 9 knots...

Oh magic eight ball, do you speak the truth?

Coast, hmmm... It does look pretty "schwindy" out there (sweet + schwing + windy)

PDX looks good too, 10 knots opposing that current might be just right.

The eight ball was right about Sauvies, didn't happen till around 6 but then it blew till sunset. Very Happy

What's the report from the coast? I heard it wasn't that great... Wink

Really??

What was the wind & kite sizes??? Did it involve any walking upwind?

I checked the readings throughout the evening & Scabby never got above 8mph & SI 11mph, so I didn't make the drive.

Looking good for today!?! Confused East wind could be a factor...

Everybody was on 12m - 15m. I was on my 13m and Skim for the first half hour or so, and then switched to the regular board. Wind and water were both real smooth. Everybody rode till sunset.

The SCX sensor was saying 9 when I left Portland, that was enough for me. Only a 35 minute drive, got to like that. Wink

Wow! 13m in 12mph?? Strong current must have helped??

Good for you guys/gals who got some sailing in.

I’m a little “skunk shy” these days since I have lots of work to do on the new house.

Watch me drive out today & get skunked. Rolling Eyes

Tx for the info pkh Thumb's Up

Dan,
I was on my 18 with a 151 board. Perfect combo for me.

I think it was more than 12mph, at least in the channel. Maybe more like 15mph, gusts to 18. Guys were jumping all over. Current was for sure helping a lot for sure.

I hear you about being afraid of the skunk, I only guessed 50/50 odds on it going when I drove out there.

Yah, sounds like a banner day for SI. Strongest wind was right at the Island & then blowing through to the Freemont Bridge (see below). Very cool!

I think that is one reason why I love kite-sailing so much; it combines another one of my passions with sailing & that is meteorology.

Hope to see ya off of Collins Beach this evening... Wink
